Free YOGA Classes at Embassy of India
YOGA classes are starting from 2 January 2006 at the newly opened India Cultural Centre at the Embassy of India, Tokyo with a highly experienced Indian YOGA teacher. Come and experience the benefits of YOGA. Classes will be held twice from Monday to Friday (excluding Embassy holidays) from 1100 -1200 hrs and from 1800-1900 hrs.

Tokyo English Life Line (TELL) is accepting applications for the Telephone Counselors Training Program that starts in mid February 2006. No prior counseling experience is needed as this course provides training in the skills required in this role. This is a great opportunity for members of the English speaking community to take part in meaningful volunteer work that is both challenging and rewarding. The 16th Durga Puja Celebration in Tokyo was held on Saturday, October 8th 2005 at Ota Bunkanormori Hall.

Sakura Bazaar was held on 10th April 2005 at the Embassy of India premises.

First Oriya Community Saraswati Puja was held on 13th Feb 2005 at Furuishiba Bunka Centre.

FCCJ India Night organised by Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan was held on January 28, 2005, was held at the Yurakucho Denki North Building.

Republic Day function was held on January 26, 2005 at the Embassy of India.

Welcome dinner was held in honour of Ambassador of India, His Excellency Mr Manilal Tripathi, on 20th December 2003 at the Indian Embassy premises.

Rajasthan Cultural Dance Show was held on November 15 at the Meguro Kumin Center Hall.

Diwali Get-Together 2003 was held on November 1 (Sat) at the St. Mary’s International School.

Republic Day Celebrations: Republic Day celebrations were held on Sunday, 26th January 2003 at the Embassy of India. After flag hoisting, our Ambassador, Mr Aftab Seth read the President’s message.

Diwali Celebrations : Diwali Get-together & 50th Anniversary of India Japan Diplomatic Relations, was held on 10th November 2002 at St Mary’s International School Hall, Seta, Tokyo.

Independence Day Celebrations was held in the Indian Embassy premises on August 15th. After flag hoisting by our Ambassador, Mr Aftab Seth, the President of India’s message was read.

Rachna Club: The Rachna Club is an organisation of Indian women in Tokyo. Its activities include fund raising for Charity, social networking amongst Indians, outings and lecture demonsrations. Its members meet once every two months at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo. Its annual membership fees is Yen 3,000. For further enquiries, please contact Mrs Rukmani Nanda at 03 3708 2534.
Ram Navami Mahotsav was held on April 28, 2002, Sunday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m, at Toyo Shuchojo, 4F Hall. This event consisted of bhajan, puja, lecture, drama, fortune-telling, spiritual shop, mehandi and food-stalls, and was organised by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between India & Japan, ICAT presented Sangeeth Sandhya on Sunday, 24th March, 2002.

Sakura Bazaar: This event, organised by Rachana Club, was held on 24th Marth from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at the Indian Embassy premises. Varieties of home cooked food of many regions of India were available. All funds collected went to charities in India.

Lecture on Patanjali Yoga Sutras: “Yoga according to Patanjali’ hosted by Swami Medhasananda, and organised by Nippon Vedanta Kyokai was held on February 23rd, 2002 at the Indian Embassy.

Republic Day Celebrations: Republic Day celebrations at our Embassy was very well attended by our Community members on Saturday, 26th Jan 2002. Our Ambassador, Mr Aftab Seth hoisted the national flag at 9.30 a.m. and it was followed by reading of President of India’s message at the Chancery. The Ambassador also addressed the gathering.
There were light snacks provided by the Embassy and it was a good forum for fellowship among the Community members apart from gathering on Republic Day.
